Referral terms
Last updated October 30, 2026.
What you earn
Every cardtap page has a "Get yours" link with your page name in it. When someone opens it and buys a new cardtap page, you earn $20. That's a one-time commission on the buyer's first year. Renewals don't earn a commission.
When you get paid
Each commission is held for 30 days after the sale. After that, it's sent to the bank account you connect through Stripe, in one deposit on the 1st of the month. You need an active cardtap page and a connected Stripe payout account. Commissions wait for you until you connect.
What doesn't count
- Buying a page for yourself, or under another email you control.
- Sales that are refunded or disputed during the 30-day hold. Those commissions are cancelled.
- Spam, misleading claims, or paid ads that bid on the name "cardtap".
Disclosure
Your page says that you earn a referral fee when someone buys through your link. If you share your link anywhere else, say so there too. That's what the FTC requires.
Taxes
Commissions are income to you. Stripe collects your tax details when you set up payouts. If you earn $2,000 or more in a calendar year, you'll receive a 1099 from Stripe.
Changes
We can change or end the referral program at any time. Commissions already earned under these terms will still be paid. Questions? Reply to any cardtap email.
